10-Year-Old Writes Poem About Dyslexia That Has A Different Meaning When Read Backwards

There are multiple disorders that affect the brain but dyslexia is one that affects how the brain processes language. When an individual has dyslexia, they may have problems reading, performing math equations and identifying differences between symbols and letters.

School can be a very traumatizing experience when an individual has dyslexia. With intervention at an early age, however, a child can navigate through the issue and focus on the strengths they possess.

Studies have even shown that highly intelligent people are often the ones afflicted with dyslexia. They may be the ones that excel in fields such as art, music, and athletics. In England, a 10-year-old student with dyslexia shows that the disorder hasn’t affected their ability to inspire others with poetry.

Jane Broadis received poems from her students and like other assignments, she shared some of them on twitter. One particular poem has hundreds of thousands of likes because it is so inspirational and clever. When you read the poem forward, it discusses the frustrations associated with dyslexia. If you read it backward, it is an inspirational message about believing in yourself.

When you read it forward:

“I am stupid.

Nobody would ever say

I have a talent for words

I was meant to be great

That is wrong

I am a failure

Nobody could ever convince me to think that

I can make it in life

NOW READ UP”

When you read it backward:

“I can make it in life

Nobody could ever convince me to think that

I am a failure

That is wrong

I was meant to be great

I have a talent for words

Nobody would ever say

I am stupid.”
